Default Road 180 Keeping It Old School

Right ive been meaning to make this thread for a very long time so this is basically going to be a 3 year build crammed into the first post so bear with me
I sort of accidently picked up this shell off a fella on here about 3 years ago , i had zero intentions of buying anything when i logged on that day but somehow found myself out looking at the shell that evening, turned out to be a very good straight shell with no dents with no actual rust just bits of surface here and there from being left outside so ended up bringing it home
    So here we go
Got her home and threw on a bootlid i had spare from the drift car just to keep rain and shit out
turned out for some reason the hinges wouldnt line up so just left it resting on it for now til i got another one
so i set about tidying the shell itself taking care of any bits and pieces that needed tidying of which there was virtually none , the underside of the car was absolutely perfect not a spec of rust anywhere so cleaned it all down and wax oiled it to make sure nothing ever would develop just for peace of mind …what a cunt of a job it was without a lift or even a decent jack, unfortunately never got any pics of it cause i was doing it on small jacks so hadnt the space to be getting pics

I went and cleaned the arches and legs , they were in very good nick but said i might as well spray them seeing as they were easily got at

While she was jacked up i took off all arms and pollybushed anything that had a bushing in it

Once i had all that shit sorted i said id throw on a pair of kouki lights i had here and picked up a centre panel so that tidied up the back end nicely .

I then needed to get the car off the trailer so borrowed a pair of rear hubs and picked up some almost new d2 coilovers , i dont know were they even driven on the road they were so good but fired them in so i could get her off the trailer

Went and picked up a good shot of bits off slithertooth (rory) off here

In that lot i got a pair of headlights

you can see one surround had a piece gone out of it so pulled them apart and fiberglassed it up

But even the good surround had loads of tiny little gouges that i circled

so i filled them all up just to have them right

even got right anal and sprayed the screws

I cant seem to find pics of the end result but as i say it was 3 years ago so god only knows what phone theyd have been taken on
So next thing i picked up a pair of original steel wings which were stupidly hard got but got them anyway and sprayed them up and fitted them loosely for the mean time

Also picked up a kouki bumper and cable tied it on to test fit it

    And put on the headlights

So with that all done it was time to get down to the proper mechanical shit
To drop in the engine i dropped the car out to a buddy who has an engine crane and a proper garage , i had wanted to do this build absolutely start to finish myself but work had me tied up 6 days a week and the thought of trying to fit a gearbox without even a good jack was just stupid so leaving it out with the buddy just made more sense , so off she went and this is how she sat

…………………………………………†¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦.For 2 years , i dont really know what happened , myself and the buddy just both kept getting side tracked with other shit and a job that should have taken very little time just dragged on i think it came down to the fact every time we looked at it we'd find more and more awkward hard to get parts so sourcing parts did take up a huge amount of time but it was productive it ment i took the time to either get the best new parts i could or else the best condition second hand bits so got an exedy triple plate clutch , all braided turbo lines , driftworks braided brake lines etc. threw in some subframe locking collars and got all the rolling side of things finished up
So roughly 2 years later i picked her up looking fairly sorry for herself but i brought her home and gave her a good scrub

So with the engine and everything fitted i cracked on with the wiring …this is where shit starts to go cuntish , i HATE wiring always have for some reason so this was never going to be an easy task but cracked on with as much as i could so started working out whats what

Went about fitting the fuel tank , lines etc. was a bit of a weirdly awkward job trying to get the fitting straps on and the neck properly in place but got there in the end

I was and still kind of am still going full kouki type x with this bulid due to the car being a 98 shell but i got serious horn for a zenki front bumper so picked one up off darenm on here with the lights, grilles and splitter still on

Test fitted it , loved it even more than i expected so went and sprayed it

    And fitted

While i had the bumper off i just tidied up behind the bumper , i had already spreyed it properly in the past but wanted to give it a fresh coat of white just to be anal (as always) about it

I also sorted pretty much a full interior , searched the length and breadth of the country to find perfect origional kouki seats which im delighted to have got , have a good dash and pretty much everything else bar a few small bits

Everythings been kinda put on hold at the minute cause theres been a shitload of break-ins all around me over the past while , cars being robbed , parts stolen and all that shit even herselfs car was done so money has been poured into security in everything i own , all the cars are now packed with security , ive the wiring in this set up enough to have a serious alarm working in it so its absolutely 150% safe along with equally good systems in the other cars and cctv around the place but ontop of all that is the baseball bats and hammers that now await any little shit that gets near the place … only reason im saying this is im lucky enough to live in a part of town that would have never been any hassle and you never had to worry bout this shit up until now so all im saying is dont take the security of your stuff for granted make sure you have everything sorted its not worth the heartache of someone fucking with your pride and joy

.So thats basically how she sits now just need to finish out the fucking cunting dickhead wiring
but for now heres some random pictures i had taken over the past while
