Just before christmas I installed the HSD suspension and sorted the car out with a proper alignment and prepped for the JustJap Matsuri yesterday.

3 Morning sessions were class, even with the frosty track I felt I knew exactly what the car was doing and could feel the improvement on rear end grip. So much so that the clutch was struggling to hold in 4th.
Up front the car is now unreal responsive, any little flick and the car initiates exactly the way you want it to go.

On the last run in the morning session I initiated very agressively into ford and I sheered the bolt on the engine mount beside the steering column, the mounting was sitting on against the steering column which meant I couldnt steer right.

Went back to the pits and with the help of a few lads I got the engine lifted and wedged in a bit of timber and tied down the engine to the subframe and got back out for the open pit session for the afternoon.

I couldn't push as hard in the afternoon session as I was afraid of the engine slipping and affecting my ability to steer, still had some serious craic and pulled off a few decent 100mph entries into ford.

Overall the day was serious craic and made a nice change from the pressure of competition.

Now time to really start getting sorted for IDC round 1

Serious lack of updates on this thread, mainly because I haven't done anything with the car since.

Spent the last couple of months trying to get sponsorship for this year, think I have that all sorted now.

Car is away with one of my sponsors for the last month or so and I should be getting it back this week so I can really get stuck into for the month of march as it needs to be ready by the 1st/2nd week of April.

The IDC page posted a video of my qualifying run from IDC3 last year, 23k views since saturday, bit mad!

Here's the link to the video:

I remember watching that livestream from home on the saturday... When you pulled off that epic entry in the video i jumped up off the seat and was roaring for you to complete the qualifying run in the same fashion. For me that's what the sport is all about! My girlfriend ran into the room asking me what was wrong and she took the piss out of me for getting so excited. she thought i was after dropping my tea on my lap or something...

I'll be there egging you on this year anyways man. Keep doing what you do. you seem to be disciplined in your approach and that will pay off. Some of the pros aren't even the most extreme drivers out there, but they're consistent and they're experienced. I hope you go far this year.

Thanks Yeah it was a bit touch and go if I was gonna be able to complete a full season but I've been very lucky with securing a great sponsor. Just getting everything sorted before I can say it is 100%.

Ha Ha, thanks Lar. Hopefully it'll be a good year. Interesting to see how the car performs now that it has a proper suspension set up and new tyres, no more part worns this year.

Thanks man, good to hear a bit of feedback from this thread

2015 build progress has been a bit slow but I've a good few things to do now over the next few weeks to get it finished and ready for round 1.

Stripped the car of all it's panels, doors, bootlid, bonnet, all will be replaced.

Also got the grinder to the rear of the car

Also installed a couple of gauges to keep a closer eye on the engine. Oil pressure & oil temperature gauge.

Made up a little console to hold everything in the dash. Happy enough with it now.

Mario made new rear overfenders, looking forward to getting these fitted.

Now I'm just waiting on parts to come so I can start putting this back together.
