cleaned afm and spark plugs today the afmr was dirty alright but not the problem.there is a greddy type s bov on the car when i pull off the vacum hose going into it and dont block the hose it runs perfect but if i block the vacum hose or if i connect it back to the bov it starts reving up and down again.is the problem the bov or something else.also when i start the car it runs fine until i give it a rev

when you've that pipe off and your thumb on it, thats the exact same as when its connected, there would be no air flowing in that pipe during idle when its connected to the bov,

sounds like its running rich and when you give it more air by letting it into that vacuum hose it runs better, could be wrong on this bit???

    is it the plugs,
    afm
    02 sensor
fuel pump? as of latley a bit of a whinning when pressing the accellerator.
also i only flushed the iacv with carb cleaner when i took it off i didnt take it apart or anything.

It might be worth trying the throttle position sensor, I had a few twincams do what your describing and it was the TPS.
