LS series V8's are ten a penny in the states and relatively cheap to pick up. Plenty of company's make mount kits for S body nissans, mazda's etc so its also an easy conversion, no messing about with intercooler pipe work or wastegates etc either.
They're popular over there because of the nature of FD and the tracks they use, instant power with no lag and run much cooler than any turbo charged engine in the 50 degree heat of Vegas and Atlanta.
I don't think you ' need ' one for the Irish scene but I'd have one over a turbo charged jap motor any day. 400hp/400lbs ft torque handy and all it needs is an oil change every now and then !
@ericosullivan
I would go with an american v8 over european for def
add an ecu, cams and raise the compression and you'd have mega reliable power
Buy a crashed Monaro in the UK. They pop up pretty often and then do an engine swap
Or if your really cool fix the Monaro and drift that!! a Monaro drift car would be awesome!!!
v8 are sex all the torque ya could want. i,m corrently in process of putting a v8 in track car so will let ye no the cost when i,m finishes
al sell u d beemer robbie its v8 ...... startin d bids at 10,000 or may p/x wiv your skyline .....![]()
Anyone whos been to Fd will tell yes what a real v8 sounds lik.... And its nothin like Shane Lynchs yoke....
