Hey Guys,

Neither....!
This could be a late night lad if we get started on this..... :P Without going into mad detail i don't really rate them....! There o.k for what they are but id never put 1 near a car again...!
what ecu would you sujest robby
power fc has no knock control and a nistune is a chip not an ecu
if its any good to you, i put in an omex into my one-via and it transformed it,,well worth the money in my opinion!!
MoTeC M4,,, I don't need to give reasons why, MoTeC is the top of the ecu game!!
I am using a Nistune and very happy with it, cheaper than a power FC and just as good really.
I think if I HAD to go aftermarket on a SR I would fit an Omex 600, great value ECU.
Motec is the bussiness but comes with a high price not sure if it is really needed on a basic drift car either.
fcon gold or m4!!!
the ecu is only as good as the man tuning it,you could give one tuner a motec and he could make a ballox of it,and give another tuner you power fc,nistune or alternative and transform the car,its down to what the tuner is most expierenced with,
is it road or drift car?much spec?budget?all of this must be taken into account, for instance the likes of the motec, gems, autronic, haltech can sometimes be over kill for what you need, but no doubt are the business,in race cars,
pick who you want to map your car, discuss you spec, and also your budget, thats what i do when a customer wanting to get a ecu and remap it,then he will give you his expierence and info on whats best for your options
lads its for my car and it aint gonna have a big spec so i wanna know between the two ecu's which one will suit my car better
nistune is only a stock ecu with a chip so don't waste your time!!! the power fc is the way to go!!! ive used severl of them and got robbie at tdp to map them for me!! (as fair as im consirnded der is no one able to get the relaiableaty and power that robbie can deliver!!!) but the power fc is cheap and chearfull and is a full management!!!
p.s sorry my spelling is all over da gaff today!!
b4 you run with a tuner give me a pm if you want!!
nistune is just as good as PFC
Don't want to sound like a prick but that is wrong Dan. The nistune is a daughterboard that is soldered into the stock ECU to make it possible to adjust all the parameters of it. They will actually see knock and do something with it if it gets to a dangerous level. A PFC won't do this.
Nistune is just as good as a PFC IMHO. I have not seen a nistune losing its map yet either, have seen a number of PFCs doing this.
I have my car fully remapped with nistune, and never had any problems with it, perfect for what i wanted.
dan is right on this one.i had a nistune (chipped) ecu and i didnt like it at all.i was suggested robbie@T.D.P by a friend.i was going to some else but i brought the car up to robbie any way.which after i was delighted with.since then it has been to drag drift track tullow goldstone prodrift udc portugal and ask any one that knows my car and 3 years later it is still going :D MONEY WELL SPENT...........
ya i did.has the commder with it two.knock works aswell from what i can see
what is nistune... http://www.nistune.com/faq-general.php
when people say "chipped ecus" most think of those pre programmed chips you can get and stick in. Nistune is fully programmable and has better knock protection than the pfc.
Not much point in spending 2k on a ecu if your aiming for 250bhp. Both the nistune and pfc seem well upto the job for making good reliable power. There are other ecus a hell of a lot better but its all down to money at the end of the day.
I have a nistune fitted at d mo an cant fault it yet, had it mapped by greg @ protuner making a gud 360hp on a redtop sr...... but i will be goin pfc d-jetro whenever i get a bigger turbo thou :D den its bye bye afm's!!!
:oCleary not dave! Dan ^^ knows much more than you or most people on this site expecially tunning cars! Nistune is only a chip at the end of the day so it cant be as good as a pfc! maby you have a nistune and yur tryin to defend it :)
End of the day.. you pay for what you get. Buy cheep buy twice :D
All depends how much money you have to play with and what bhp ur aiming for...
Richard bradley up north does both nistune and pfc mapped on rollers, dont think robbie does nistune anymore
Nistune is 450 supplied and fitted with a road map, BUT proper dyno set up/map your looking at over €600 done on the rollers.. which only leaves about €100-€150 extra for a pfc...
As dan already said pm with help for tuners as alot of untold/unheard stories of late and dan is epic when it comes to SR's!!
clearly not? what kind of attitude is that?
i know what im talking about, and don't have it, i actually have a HD chip which i believe is a chip as in the shitty chip, "dont go for one" that most on here are saying, now nistune is fully programmed , how could you could you call it "only a chip" i cant understand
i've done my research a couple of years ago, CLEARLY, a lot of irish happy nistune users have proven me whats what
CLEARLY
Young man you are so full of shite it amazes me...
Everyone will have conflicting opinions on which is better, just because Dan uses a PFC doesn't mean shit really...*no personal offence meant Dan btw!
Nistune enables you retune all the standard parameters of a stock ecu, how can that be bad?? And the ability to adjust ignition for knock is a major plus... You CLEARLY are jumping on the bandwagon fella.
Another thing to be aware of is reselling when your finished with which ever you go for, you'll get your money back on a pfc you wont get much more than €200 back off a nistune
Power FC 15 65.22%
Nistune 8 34.78%
Voters: 23.
Out of intrest out of the 23 that voted on the poll how many have had either or both????
i voted for nistune even thou ive 2power fcs in both cars only cause each car came wit them fitted
imo nistune is better than the power fc and the skyline will be running one next yr for just one reason only tat it can retard or advance the timing or if funds allow ill go wit a d jetro system in the likes of a hks f con pro or links ecu
Take your tongue out of Dans bum,Deep breath,Now go back and wait outside your girlfriends workplace while she walks out and goes home with another guy like before.
Ye see I can understand why that happens with the utter bullshit that rolls off your fingers when you type this sort of posts.
FML With this site sometimes.
iv this ecu, the only place iv found that can map it is couture auto, its already mapped for a redtop sr20 that had bigger injectors and a s15 turbo. Im not sure if ill keep it or get another one.

This!
Nistune is happily used by alot of very experienced tuners, Greg at Protuner, Abbey motorsport, etc. I honestly don't know why Robbie won't map them, I think he would get a nice bit more business if he did, I personally would have brought my R32 to him if he would of mapped nistune.
I also voted nistune and I have one fitted to my R32, very happy with it. Only reason I would go PFC is if I was going D-jetro but if I was spending as much as a D-Jetro costs I would actually probably go for something like a Omex 600.
