If it is a CA18 then it doesn't have rocker arms but are quite prone to crank float and bottom end failure.
sounds to me like bottom end failure, id pop off the rocker cover first and have a look to see if its the rocker arms though

Ive seen it a few times people thinking they had a tapping noise up top but it turned out to be bearings in the bottom end.Quote:
