we used to use carb cleaner in work on the mazda and volov mafs and it always worked a treat

Make sure when you spray the cleaner on it, that you immediately spray it off with compressed air. If you leave it on, the cleaner will dry on the sensor with all the dirt still in the liquid.

id imagine compressed air would be bit much for the wire thing in the maf sensor???

Ive dont it plenty of times on my own with no issues, dont hold it directly in front of the wire but close enough that you see the liquid blow off.
