Havent been able to get on here for a while for some reason. Some updates are in order.

    Exhaust done

    Nice little trophy

Welded a beefy wear patch onto the part that usually scrapes on these cars

    How it currently sits

Was too busy having fun on the drives so far. Not had the chance to take many videos. The only two I got...

    Idle

Dont forget to tune in next week for "How to Fit 9.5 et -8 in Stock Arches"

I got a mig welder to help me finish the rest of the bits on the car.

Came in handy first day. Modified the shifter so that it doesnt hit the center console.

For some reason the supra ones have weird angles and the gear stick just ended up in shit places. So a few cuts and tacks later I had it positioned exactly where I wanted and welded up

Much better! And I get to keep my cup holder! Win!

Then everything started going bad, but I think the worst was when I took the car for a quick blast and found that I lost a sideskirt along the way. Went back to look for it, traced the route about 5-6 times, checked fields, ditches... Nowhere to be found. So some pikey now has a BN sideskirt lying somewhere that he cant use. Great!

But despite that shit experience, the car felt absolutely spot on! Think the boost was peaking at 1.1 bar with no sign of fuel cut.

After an absolutely shit day at work I got a text message that made everything better. Steve, the tyre guy came across my sideskirt in a field on the way over to my house!!

Had a quite nice collection of wheels going

Got a set of old and solid tyres fitted that I have had lying around for ages

    Ill just leave these here...

Also mint kindly gifted a set of rear brake pads to me  Cheers man

Been called away for work, but managed to get a few more things done before I went away.

Carefully rolled the arches....with a jack handle. Still need to sort the bumper mount point as it still rubs.

And took her for a blast! Pretty happy with the end result. Paint next

Was hoping to get the roof wing finished, but the filler I got turned out to be acrylic based, so its still soft. Back to the drawing board

Then I made a start on the bar

No pipe bender, so was all slightly cut and bent by hand

Took a few hours, test fitted and tacked up

    All welded up

Then went on to think of a place to mount the cooler. No space on the side of the car. Fog light, bumper and load of other stuff get in the way. So moved to the front... Not ideal for air flow to the rad, but meh.

Need to do the same for the pas cooler when I eventually get one. The bar is right up against the bumper, so small nudges will no longer cause the bumper to explode. Also gives the front end a bit more rigidity.

Then went on to de-pikey the fuel pump... From this

    To this

Also installed a sard thermostat. And blanked the bov

This has to be one of the most detailed threads on the site, makes for good reading! How do you find the r-tec welder? I have been debating buying one

Its nothing amazing, only running 0.9bar of boost. But its so much nicer to drive now than with the 3SGE engine. I never knew that turbo engines had so much low down torque Spins the wheels up in a blink of an eye

A mate of mine did the exhaust. Hes a fabricator by trade, so has some welding experience, haha. I didnt want to mig the exhaust as the welds look untidy in my opinion....

The R-tech welder is pretty damn good! So nice to use, compared to some other mig welders I tried. Definitely worth the money! I would definitely recommend it
