Weather was total shite today so I just spent my time in the shed putting the engine and gearbox together. I know that its a quick job but the RB20 was buried under a pile of parts.

The garage might not be big enough to get the car into it but there's plenty of space to work away on small bits. Id be fairly lost without the engine crane!!

Have most bits bolted up together, just missing a few bolts that bolt the engine and box together. Cannot remember what bolts are used at the bottom of the engine as none of these holes are threaded. Everything for the car is there somewhere, just need to find them.

Need to change the oil return pipe from the turbo into the sump as I pinched the pipe and its leaking now. Any help from people will be really appreciated!!

So I prayed for dry weather to get at the car and what do ya know, it pissed rain in the early hours of the morning, then stopped for a few hours and started again, think ill have the mother of all colds but sure fuck it nothing a hot whiskey wont cure!!!

Anyway during the time that it stayed dry I managed to get the car into the shed, if there wasnt so much shite in the way i probably could of got the full car in with the aid of the go jacks but I made do with what I had.

Wiped down the bay before the engine went in, and on two sections in the bay the paint never bonded to the primer and just wiped clean off!!!! Hopefully something will cover them!!

Took a while maneuvering the engine about but I finally got the engine to sit into the mounts of the subframe.

And I learned an important lesson today, do not operate the engine crane on your own with one hand as you will damage something!!!

But this shit happens!!! Anyway after fucking months of looking at it the engine is back in where it should be!!!!

I then went and fitted the R33 LCA's and 4 pot brakes to the car, they have been long enough out of the car and I still didnt tidy them up!! #uselesscunt

After all that I forgot to fit the steering rack to the car while the subframe was out, and with the wheels on the car it looks like iv got an extra lock kit on the car!! lol

Anyway for me the big heavy work is over and done with, the rest is fairly straight forward, wiring, fit the interior, roll cage, bodykit, brake lines, all fluids etc etc etc. Id like to say it'll be on the road by the summer but id only be lying, ill do as much as my wallet will allow me to!!! So for now the car will stay wrapped up in bed.....

See this is what I'm confused about, I havnt changed the ball joints and as far as I can remember they came out of a R33, I'm using 4 stud hubs so will I get away without changing the ball joints or is the taper too different for it to be safe??

Agree with Darren, your putting the cart before the horse.

Better taking the stove back out to get easier access to everything else, i wouldnt leave that primer open to the elements either. Its porous and will rust.
