You map cars ya do?? You know this for a fact?? How long are you tuning cars now?? Oh wait now your not going on experience, your going on what you think is right!! I work in TDP, I see cars getting mapped all the time on standard injectors so I know what results they get!! You have to remember it's much different when the car is mapped PROPERLY,,!
300hp me arse ! Oh if your not buying anything, off ya go out of the thread it doesn't concern you,, good lad,,![]()
Whats the condition/mileage on the turbo? Is it out of the car?
As usual the know- it-all-s are commenting on what injectors should be fitted to SR's
Its all to do with the fuel pressure and flow. Std SR20 180 and S14 injectors will flow 370cc @ 43.5psi but at 60psi they will flow 425-435cc.
There is a crude formula that works very well for turbo cars when choosing the injectors needed. It assumes fixed BSFC and 80% injector duty.
For 4 cylinder engines Injector cc / 5 * 4 will give a rough gide of flywheel hp.
For 6 cylinder engines Injector cc / 4.5 * 4 will give a rough gide of flywheel hp.
This always assumes the fuel pump has the capacity to supply enough excess fuel to all the injectors. It also depends on how the injector flow is rated.
Using the above formula with no fuel pressure increase on SR20DET Injectors i.e
43.5psi 370cc/5*4=296 BHP.
If you increase the fuel pressure with boost and do the calc again you get
425cc/5*4=340 BHP
S15 injectors are 440cc @43.5 psi
440cc/5*4=352 BHP
With a bar of boost
507cc/5*4=405 BHP
I we do this for 550cc injectors as 43.5 psi we get 440 bhp
550cc/5*4=440 BHP
I we do this for 550cc injectors as 60 psi we get 488 bhp
610cc/5*4=488 BHP
I we do this for 720cc injectors as 43.5 psi we get 576 bhp
720cc/5*4=576 BHP
I we do this for 720cc injectors as 60 psi we get 647 bhp
809cc/5*4=647 BHP
I still cant understand why we get so many customers with 720cc injectors and S15 turbos.
