Just discovered this post...Dont know whether to laugh or be angry...
This car came to me 3 owners ago on the 03/04/09...Guy called Stephen owned it...He sold to to some guy who filled it with 95ron fuel and cracked a few pistons...he then bought the car back off him and brought it to me...
I then stripped his engine and built it up all standard...new bearings, Rings, std head gasket, crank seal and 2nd hand pistons...Car was then setup for 97ron fuel...total bill worked out @ £1k for bare block build including a new coilover on the front left...
To my amazement I had some chancer on the phone last week asking about warantee on an engine I built 2 year ago...lol
This is after telling me he first of all filled it with 95ron fuel and of course never revved it...lol

I bet if you strip it you have a pile of melted pistons using 95ron on a jap Silvia!!!!!

Now reading this thread I laugh so so much finding out the car ran out of water...lol ...You somehow must have forgotten to tell me that on the phone! :P

In years of building SRs I have never had 1 back and if I ever did I would certainly rectify any problems...

So if you please stop acting like a child and take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming someone who worked on this car 2 years ago...

I think what probably happened is something came loose which caused the water leak.

Now a helpful hint cuz im such a nice person......... Massive water loss on SR20 = Cracked turbo water pipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

lol at this thread.. The funniest part is the guy that thinks the water gauge has been tampered with because it doesnt read when there is no water in the engine.. Maybe someone should point out, that a water temp guage is submerged in water, and reads what temp the water is at.. No water = No reading..

Also a little funny the car has been running perfect for 2 years and for over 4,000miles, and as soon as you get it, BANG, it breaks.. Also What sort of RETARD drives a car with no water in it home, and then to his mechanics the next day. Just for that you deserve to need a new engine.

Cars are set up depending on what fuel you want to run. people like 97 ron because it = more power.. But no, if you put 95 into a car set up for 97, on normal driving it wouldnt do any harm. Its when your wrecking the shit out of it or driving it hard on boost that it matters.
All sx's and skylines are set up from the factory to run super unleaded. So if its not available to you, you either have to run 30euro worth of octance booster per tank to make up for it, or get the car set up to run crap petrol = huge lose in power.

i just lol'd this is an epic tread .. no im no master mind my self and im a trainee maechnic but like in all fairness why would any1 bout tamper a temp gaues ? crank seal leaking ? so was it looseing a pint of oil every 3 mins as well ? ? ye must have really good mechanic's up ur way thats for sure ..

but to conclude all u just had bad luck...

also chuck norris towed a 1.4 golf into us this morning wit 16 broken valves and broken timing belt .. sower he never dog'ed er or over reved it
