bmw tramp build that turned into a moneypit kinda proper build....ha!

rite so aaaammmmm been meaning to start this thread with a while, probly wont be much interest cos its not a dirty datsun but anyway sooo basically i had a 318is and had a great time in it during the snow with famous jh and nickae86 in their snow mobile bmws. but then she got a tip and was just leaft there for a while

then when the snow was gone the 1.8 engine wasnt good for much so said id lash in a 2.5 engine, so went and bought this 525 off pt-y2k off the site to use as a donor car.

so took the engine out off the 525. . . .

bought some poly engine mounts off mike @ barrysmotorsport.

at the same time john was after breaking his 328 for parts and the bold man was going to scrap the mint shell so since my one was as rusty as a average uk spec cam i bought johns shell and fully polybushed 2.5 axle with 4.4 diff and some strut braces

off then to strip al the interior and stuff out of that shell ,

and take all the bits needed off my first shell to get it rolling

swaped over the needed panels and lightened most of them aswel, then she got a good lash of matt black

and the lad that was sprayin it works at dublin airport so he had aqquired some aer lingus green paint so the engine bay got painted green

next was the engine had to get sump and a few other bits off a e36 to make the e34 engine fit in

then got the big engine crane out and put in the engine

next was to buy coilovers, just got cheapo egay ones but should be grand for a while [IMG]

so this is the way the car was lookin when i last seen it,

the car is at paul twomeys (pt-y2k) at the moment getting wired up so hopefully will have it back at the end ov the week

in the mean time ive picked up a few more bits bucket seats and harness, hydro, eccentric poly wishbone bushes from barrysmotorsport, and the best thing. . . . extra lock set up that was on famous jh's old cosworth powered e36

sound lads, she should be great craic, i know its only 2.5 but the 4.4 diff and epic lock should help alot, and im a strong believer that its not all about the power figures! jus look at that lad in the blue ae86 at punch and john hickey nailing the track in his unmapped laggy as foook s14!
