    Default BMW 540i v8 drifter

    well my names stephen and i have been on here for a while but never bothered putting up pics of my car or the changes it has gone through .
    so heres my first drift car ,

    pics arent great btw off my mobile

    my dad and one of his friends had bought it back in 2008 for doing a memorial drift day once a year for a close friend of my family who died.
    when my dad bought the other half of his friend i got driving it a couple of times i got adicted and decided to buy it as my own .

    so here it is before i bought it . a 1998 540i v8 bmw



    as you can see bad damage too 1/4 panel

    heres some when i got it in 2009




    it is a 4.4 v8 engine


    so good power to start with (will get better pics)

    there was a hydro already


    then i welded diff



    and after about a year of track days in goldstone and a local track near me the clutch went .... aparently these dual mass clutchs go anyway and the best thing to do is make the flyheels solid so got that done at http://www.exact-spec.com/ and they done a tidy job i must say .... so here new clutch ... ill none of flywheel ..


    have only got about 3 or 4 trackdays out of new clutch and seems perfect all of the time :delighted:

    trew a bit of a cage too for handyness for trackdays




    so after that been trying to do as many track days as i can ,funds permitting (i am in school)

    going through loads of tires





    did throw a bit of filler and grey spray over the bad 1/4 just to clean it up a bit for track days

    lol big tub lol

    did lower it in the back but have no pics yet as the car is out of action , something to do with emobilsors ... electrics are crazy in it
    so hoping to get it going soon

    any advice or critisism welcome

    whats the story man. you should not be encouraging critisism haha. wel I'm defo not gonna do that cause for your first car & at your age to have v8 it is credit to ya. It will only get better & better in time. wish you the best of luck in the future, keep it up stevie

    thanks niall always a sound chap ... you drove it unreall in 2009 on your qualifying lap at brians day when skyline wasnt going .... never seen so much smoke out of it in my life ....

    Nice Machine, didnt know there was a v8 in her. Wats she like to move?

    Also how much did that clutch conversion cost? Im looking for someone to do a job on mine.

    shes good for power even with the hude shell haha
    ehm i cant just remember exactly my father paids halfs for it as we where doing track days together when it went .... i think it was around 400 to 500 mark oh and thesedont work welded i dont think , they have to be fixed proberly with bolts i think they said in newry ... twas worth it though the only job man

    yeah was around that price but dad reckons for some cars yo can buy solid flywheels cheap enough just the 540i is a rare thing haha
