Dude,Buy that one off Rob off mitsi pieces, thats getting great reports!
i have a nice one for sale if your interested
Apparently that was owned previously by a guy that was into his rotarys and looked after it well,Joe Coady will tell you alot more about it but at that money you couldnt pass it
He'll be on here shortly and he'll comment,he knows his rx's well.Eric might know that one too.
i no the car,and no the previouse owner,,hes a mechainc and a fussy fucker...anything he has is always keeped well!!
Trixta's! 5k its pretty sweet! just need a good dogin!:)
Twinkles the one in question is 1500 notes.
In fairness it does seem a very good buy. What would be your plans for the car? If for the road it is worth considering that the VRT will be roughly E1600, and then you have to worry about a NCT etc. But they are a great car. About 200bhp standard if a series 5. But pretty heavy on petrol lol
Just saw that the FC is now sold. Did you go for it in the end man? If so enjoy the sheer rotaryness of it all, and all the fun that comes with
FCs are a great car, they can look serious, mine was pretty stock and i gave it a good raging had the essentials for drifitn and probably one of the most fun cars i have had and they sound unreeeeeeeeeeal
Drift only and maybe a few trackdays.Nearly a shame its really clean with only 86,000km's on it.
Ye,picked it up from waterford today.Seems mint. There is a good tight diff in her and it pulls really hard.Only thing is it needs a clutch. Are they handy enough to do on the fc??Looks straightforward.I need to do it before next sundays drift day.
Sounds the job, they rev real smooth.Almost sound like an n/a.
Once the engine holds out i will be happy.
Even if the engines are rebuilt, it wouldnt be uncommon for them to just go boom!
Yeah there cool as fuck and sound class!
engine shouldn just go boom
if they are rebuilt properly then there are zero problems
I have 3 and a 20b cosmo with no probs, also 13b in the ae86
if the engine blows it would cost 2.5k for a rebulid from us thats without rotors and rotor housings as u dont no if they hav to be replaced until u take it apart
thats for nothing considering i could put out 600hp with the right add ons, show me a piston engine that you can rebuild for that money and capable of that power
What did u pay for it in the end if u dont mind me askin
i have a minter here for sale cheap vrt'd n all Jap
If it blows,SR it ;)
Blasphemy Mick!!! I guarantee if you heard the sound of my FC in person (pretty sure it has a mild street port) that you wouldnt care if you had to rebuild it every week lol, you'd still pick it over a boring same as everyone else sr. I'm actually hoping to take some new pics with a seriously improved stance next weekend, and I'll take some vids to show the sound too.
Rotaries are similar in a way to subarus. Yes they arent the most reliable engine compared to others. But nowhere near as bad as ppl make out either. Its just largely a case of ppl being afraid of the unknown IMO. Ask actual rotary owners their experiences and its nowhere near the horror story it seems to be made out to be lol. My 4AGEs actually caused me more problems ha :D
The same can be said for any engine that's been re built by a numpty !.
The problem with rotaries in Ireland is that very few people actually know much about them and a load of boys blow them up by messing around with them as if they're a conventional piston engine.
They need to be approached differently than your usual engines so do your research first and you should be fine.
I was skeptical at first but Im now a big fan of rotaries and especially the FC chassis. I believe you could have a seriously competitive FC for a lot less than an S body, especially when you consider Darren's prices on an engine build capable of big power .
Plus it will drown out every other car on the track and sound amazing, win win !
