any one know about diesel engines???

lads i have a 94 pajero 2.8 here and it seems to be down on power.it starts and drives fine but seems a little underpowered when you are accelerating,like there is something holding it back.changed the filters but it still seems to be a bit of hestation in it.

any ideas?/

i know in 2.5 that i have.they have a balancing belt witch can make it very slugggis and hard on fuel
2.8 have a timing chain i am not all the sure do they have same set up.
is it hard started? half a tooth in timming can cause alot off probs.
also have you drove another 2.8 to see are they the same coz their not all that quick anyhow

no its starting fine,the problem is its seems a bit underpowered towards when i got it first

i do a bit off 4x4 off roading. i know that if gearbox and diff oils levals are low it can hold it back

jesus alot can caus that.... dirty or fucked injectors, fuel pump can be on its way, blocked fuel or air filter, clogged cat.... take your pick lol

is it smokey? running rich? when was last service?
