SR86 Trueno Rebuild

Have been wanting a sr86 for years and finally bit the bullet and bought a bear shell i want to have the car out for the end of april.
The doner car is my s14.5 which is being broke tomorrow all i have been doing since i got the car is getting parts have nearly everything now to get the car rolling.

I also Made a 34lt petrol tank in my spear time out of stainless i kept the filler pipe high to make it easyier for filling

Car was not as well put together as i thought it was anyway i have my work cut out for me to get it out in april it needs a cage in a bad way but i will stick with what is in it until the winter.
I got the s14 fully stripped today

For a car that was put together a year ago as it sits. it Doesn't look look like a yoke that was put together all that well,Best of luck with it ..Put it together right and it will be a competitive car :)

Best of luck with the build, it was a cool looking car when chris was competing in it! The shell looks straight though.

Shell will be for sale in the next few weeks dont know if i should strip off the 15 front and overfenders or would they help to sell it

Shell is straight except where the tunnel was bet up with a sledge to fit the sr box thats why its getting this to fit my 300zx box

see what you mean about the cage lad ,its miles away from the pillars as well

nice job on the tank man i see what you mean about the way it was put together the cage is rough must ave been on the beer when they done that :wink::wink::wink:

You got the car for handy money and inspected it before leaving, you were happy that night, you saw the tunnel which i told you about, you saw the cage with your own two eyes before buying it, The Back End work done by MCN Sport is Very well Done, There is a few pics i can put up of this..

You Followed The Build On This Website, Every Detail Is ON IT!! The Cage Welding Etc Is shown and stated on the build thread... Its No Roco Top Quailty Job But What Do you Expect For €1400???...

I'm with Kruizer on this one that's big money for a poor fitting cage...I think your taking what's been said way to personal anyway Chris....The car looks to be done poorly in areas I think jap scrap is saying more as an observation then a complainet..You didn't didnt build the cage so who cares what people think off it?

Exactly ^^^ Looks to be a bolt in cage with extra bars...

yep bolt in with bars.. you have to take into consideration the price it cost to get the back end modified, then the shell etc.. if you start off with a bare shell its going to total up to more that €1400 when your done, i know exactly what it costed me and thats why im taking it to heart, i put my heart and soul into that car,

yeah i have no doubt this man will make a job of it, i didnt have the months to wait it had to meet a deadline unfortunately,

Its the names Involved with the car, i want people to be clear that their work was done to the best of their ability, as for the cage yeah a mate put it in for me, cheap and cheerful i was happy at the time,

Ah sure there is the disconnect, from what you said earlier it sounded like you gave €1,400 just for the cage fella, big difference to what you explained above... Onto bigger and better things now...

Let it be known i am not one bit bad to you chris i found you a gent to deal with and i would have no problem buying gear off you again i am very happy with the car all i was saying really was that is one of the jobs i have to do but the cage that is in it will do me until the winter and the same with the colour of the car i have this yoke booked into mondello on the 28th of april so busy times ahead. But let it be known chris is a sound lad to buy off

And another thing chris told me the cage was only middleing before i left my house to go up and see it

Thats it for now.......Engine and box to be fitted at weekend and i will be startin the green treatment on da doors and the bootlid that has yet to come.

I have not been updating this as time is just against me work mental busy as it always is when you want to get some of your own work done and a 3 month old baby in the house anyway here is a few pics of when i got the avo coilovers in i will be buying front ones aswell very soon once i get this first track day out of the way.

Going to be running 8" up front and 9" x 15 all around in old style revoloutions i always loved the dish on a 9" revoloution

You will see them soon man might do few rounds won't be ready for rd1 but might make rd2

Got the engine and box sitting in the car yesterday was going to reuse the old engine mounts but as we were going along it would not work so engine and box is solid mount now getting the engine lying right in the car was a bit of a handling my engine in the old car sat at a slight tilt high on the drivers side and dead level back and forward cut out the tunnel for extre room will be starting the tunnel today / tomorrow and wiring next week i will update a few pics later on today

It been a busy weekend on the car started out mounting the oil cooler, intercooler and rad all going sound until i went mounting the rad but its way to big so going to lift a twincam rad and hope it is good enough to cool the sr i started the pipe work on the intercooler aswell.
Moved on to the tunnel got that done slow work and got new flywheel, clutch release bearing and gearbox mounted.
