Brake problem!

Have a 180 with standard brakes, Fitted 4 pots from an s14, Bled the brakes but still no pressure in the pedal. I checked for leaks and there is none. If you pump the brake pedal it will build up pressure and go rock hard but take your foot off it for a few seconds and press it again and it will just go straight to the floor. Im going to fit the standard calipers back on there now and see how it goes but the only thing I an think of that could be the problem is that the banjo bolt fron the 180 calipers was to long to to bolt into the 4pots so I got copper washers to space it out. Its not leaking and I spaced it out properly so dont see how that would cause a problem. Any help or info appreciated.

You sure they are on the proper side.nipple just the top of each side

alls i got is re bleed the whole system with load of fluid had a similar prob with the soarer after fitting the hydro but kept at it and eventualy got proper pressure

the front calipers are left and right on the 14.i had the same problem on my 13.felt like a sack when i figured it out.never did breaks ever at that stage.so could be differant on the soarer

ya shouldn stack copper washers on your brakes to make the banjo fit thats jus dodgy there should only ever be 2 per banjo...dont think the s14 calipers are supposed to have a banjo bolt if they're like skyline one theres supposed to be a small hard pipe goin into the caliper an a flexi hose that attaches to the hard pipe...try bench bleedin the master cylinder first then stick it back in the car quick an then bleed like normal

did u open both bleed nipples on one caliper at the same time?either that or you need a bigger bmc 2 accommodate the four pots on front.2 extra pistons like

agreed,ya cant just botch your brakes together and then wonder why they are not working,use all the right parts first and see if it works then and take it from there

id say you have the calipers the wrong way round mate..nipples to the top...easy mistake to make!

Either way you put the calipers there is always gonna be a bleed nipple on the top on one side and on the bottom of the other. There is only one bleed nipple per caliper. As said above the only just found out myself on the s14s there is no banjo bolts, so I need to get s14 lines!

Lad get braided hoses don't ever take a chance with your breaks.
ie putting on copper washers to build it out
You will get braided lines on ebay for around €40

Didnt know I needed them at that stage was under the impression that everything was a direct swap. DIY mechanics ftw!!! lol

No the lines are different.Try ebay for lines

nissan wount do steel braided lines, they will give you the flexi rubber lines for the s14 just go to the motofactors and get lines

i,m on about the steel lines that come off the capailer as far as the shock and then you have the rubber hoes's from there if you know what i mean

theres your problem rite there...the bleed nipple should be at the top on both calipers always!! not one on the bottom an one on the top...ya must have bought two calipers off the same side of two cars

these 2 callaipers came from the black 180sx it was driving b4 i broke it, are u droping the car down 2nte u will get nowere on this answering back to comments

both bleed nipples are 110% supposed to be at the top of the caliper...if one caliper has one at the bottom an the other caliper has one at the top you have 2 of the same caliper instead of a left an right set
