Drift/Rally School Ireland is shite anyway
Was up there on the rally thing they have a kill switch in the car if it goes even slightly sideways they kill the power they were doing it for the "Drift" school too which totally defeated the purpose:rolleyes:
Cant comment on the ProDrift but think you at least get to use the power of the car as far as I know..
If you were up for a fun driving day the Rally School in Waterford is great craic the lads we had there were mad and made sure you and the car were at the limit
Yeah I agree, Rally Connection its called in Waterford, near Dungarvan as far as I can remember. I did my rally licence with Tom up there, great crack in the mk 2 escort, although it is a piece of junk, still deadly crack and like a toy to put sideways :D:D Had a great day, and it wasn't even the fully rally day!!!! Def go there...
You can also rent out the track from him for 100 bucks per hour......need to buck well in advance though as far as I know unless its a weekday

what surface has it got
go with PD............
they are prob the best........
and also you'll learn from alot.. as you'll be sitting beside one of the top pro drivers
yep ive done the pd academy, cant imagine you would get much better anywhere else. fully prepd cars and being thought by the best of the best!
Ive done PD as well and i really enjoyed that. All the instructors, (there were 4 of them on our day), give you as much info you asked and needed, very friendly atmosphere and at the end of the day i managed to do 82 point lap, never drifted before that :D
So i vote for PD Academy :)
Video my missus recorded and i put together:

cheers lads, not really lookin for lessons really as pretty capable of the basics just looking for good craic like!! :D
why not do a drift day in mondello, cheaper and more seat time.
Done the PD....great advice and freindly out
hear the rally school was shite from a few people and was great from others so i suppose its 50/50 on the day
Are prodrift still doing the days ??
Haven't heard of 1 lately
i vote PD 100%
i learned to drift with them and it was great
really helpful and friendly:)
as for the cars i drive them a lot doing passanger spins at events or demos at shows and stuff and they are perfect for learning in
and they pretty much only use 180's these days so you are in a similar car most of the time which is really good for learning:)
they are still doing pleanty of them you just have to call them up to book:)
I done PD in rosegreen ages ago. It was brilliant stuff. They nearly have to drag you out of the car at the end of the day Ur still mad for road.
Ken
Their latest add in modified motors said there now doing it in mondello so that should be good crack.
just thinking here..
have ye got cars to do it in?????????????
If you have your own car just take it to goldstone and teach yourself ;)
What sort of money are you looking at for the PD nd where bouts is it. Great christmas present for the misses!
Sorry to drop in on your thread dude.
Like i've never drifted before and i'm heading out mondello on the 5th.. is this a good thing.. like should a PD course be done first or will you get the knack of it fairly quickly?
I don't want to write off the car first time out
I probably should just grow a set of lethroidi!!
Everything is relative..
If you have alot of experience of driving and are a pretty compitent driver with proper cop on and car control, you are best off going straight on out there and tackle it yourself, its pretty easy once ya start into it..
If you are anyway doubting yourself and think you'd prefer some instruction from 'pros' definately do a school day they will tell you how to position the car brake, steering and throttle control etc And will be there with you so you have less chance of fucking up..
When you have lads that think they are better than they are though it makes for some fun viewing:D
Cheers man, I probably could do with a lesson alright. I'd be confident enough i'd say.. i'll just take it handy for the first few.. few power overs.. start to build it up.
Hopefully my yoke won't be in a write off pic up on the site in the "Mondello After thoughts" hahaha
ya we have our own cars but would prefer to have someone else's to get used to the track!! :) what the story with goldstone how you book, price??
http://www.driftireland.com/showthre...ight=goldstone
Info here lad, very good value.
Full track to yourself for the day ;)
My two cents - and this isnt aimed at anyone!
I think going to something like a PD academy day would be really beneficial. Alot of people out there think they can steer and probably think they can drift also.
Learning or at least getting direction from some of the Pro drivers will help with technique. We all have bad habits but getting some quality tutition is going to help your drifting alot imo.
Im definitely going to do a PD Academy day next year at some point. Im very confident about my driving and i have competed in rally events and have my rally license. I know the theory of how to drift but tbh i think learning from a Pro like Mike Fitz or Peden Neilsen would be far more beneificial than trying to go out and do it on my own.
theres also portlaoise driftdays if you've your own car
are you for real????????
if you read the thread you'll see that they want to go somewhere else than mondello..
if he clearly stated in his 1st post that they have cars to do a drift day.
he obviously got mixed up.... i don't thing that the fact of PD ACADEMY OR DRIFT SCHOOL would be mentioned..
hence the reason i asked them did they have there own cars..??
and where in IRELAND is going to get "THIS INSTRUCTOR" person sitting beside you in your own car??
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
No Spéka lá éngle Bártú
didnt mean to cause a row lads :):) ya we've our own cars but would like bit practice without the worry of giving it slap of the wall or anythin, not to say we'd wreck the pd cars just you'd be obvoiusly extra careful in your own car..
look here my 2 cent becasue ive been there
iam only drifting since march, my first every drift day was tullow
and then i attemped stonies both days i destoryed the bumper
like just be prepeard that your gone get battle scares i have a few
like i drive my car on the road as well as track
there only so much one person can tell you, PD is great i know frew lads there and the do really get the message accross, but ya have to reallise that your car and there car a 2 differant machines,
i was going todo PD but then i didnt reason being money, ive learn more in a day in stonies then i have all year, it all seat time, people will give you advice once you ask, people will help you out. like i ran a day where not one person had any drift experanice, and we all walk away known we had improved, every track if diffance, but my advice is just get out there and give it ago, there will be always people given ya tips and people there with loads of drifting experanice
like i just cant justifiy the price when ya can go down to stonies, tullow, portloise for 50 euro and then 100 your on tryes like your getn 2 days for the price of one PD day and you get load more seat time,
iam not knocking the PD acemdy it gives people a huge insite to how to drift but in my experiance ive learn more in last few months
How do you book the pd academy? I can't see any dates on the site
