Huh is this the chit chat thread? :D
Yea Greg, have heard lots of good stuff about him and of the several people I spoke to he's the only one who comes across as a decent bloke and that actually seems to want the business
Good to hear Chuck, I did wonder would you be better to go Holset, everyone seems to be jumping on them and they seem cheap enough too!
Dozzler, you mean me? Thanks! gonna try and get more front camber, lots more, but I will need adjustable stuff first :)
Hooray, i want to see this doing skids and stuff! who repaired the PFC do you know??
Only joking git fire away!
Thanks yea she is good to once this is done, now getting time to go to a day soon is the issue! Had hoped to do a drift jam in august but lack of cage ATM stopped that. It will be out though.
Simons dad fixed it! When I rang Simon he didn't even know lol!
Yea I'm also assuming by the reg on the drift car that he used to be fast cave on some of the old sites like jon44w if so I've heard good things about him for a long time.
Yea Greg for sure, means a lot these days to deal with someone decent
Cool, he fixed my one two, I asked Robbie in TDP if there was a way of testing mine before map time and he said that repaired ones will just die again, get a new one. But tbh, I cant see that being logical as the part that was replaced is obviously a new part!
Yea that makes no sense at all! From what I understand is done. Part breaks for a reason. Part is taken out and binned. New identical part is sourced. New identical part is installed. System works as before. Sytem only breaks if incorrectly used/ damaged as before. If a new one is bought it too will break if under the same conditions as the first broke....
at pete i had the power fc after getn simos dad to put a new mother board into it and robbie told me fixed ones are no good,,
it cant be true tho, simos dad has done a rape load of them? Surely hed have heard back from unhappy customers??
If the mother board was replaced then the only old parts left are the cases and the wiring. And wires are either split or not.
That just sounds like a sales answer. Essentially an ECU is a like a laptop only with different out puts and uses. You replace the mother board in a laptop and it's not knackered??
hoooray for getting it fixed dude, happy days.... bet your ovr the moon
if a partis broken on any circuit board regardless of it being an ecu or anything for that matter if the problem can be sorced taken out propperly and replayed properly there should be no problem with them... 90% of these FCs break due to power serge...
and as pete said my dad has fixed some amount and had none brought back to him
right anyway back to the car.... ontopic ahooooy
Exactly!!
Sorry pal, I will get to you to pick up the other ecu's n sort you out. Maybe after the weekend.
Anywho took it for a spin today and the PFC hasn't broken yet :D
Well after a typical hitch its finally getting sorted! A near heart attack moment when Richard called to say his laptop wouldnt connect with the PFC but would connect to several others in his year, it turned out it was his software at fault. He brought the car to EEC i think to double check and it worked fine. Two weeks later and the software arrived and she was mapped today. But after setting it all up he noticed a split boost pipe so it will need tweeking tomorrow! And apart from an iffy ICV its all good :D
Ill sort the ICV out when I get her back. A picture my dad took ages ago but only showed me yesterday! Cant wait to collect it :D

Pink wheels will be gone too....
good news for ya lad.. say ya cant wait get her back :D
Again,Its the car of Highest Awesometownness on DI ....!
Personally I think the Pink wheels add character,I'd only change for MEGA dishu!
pink wheels are class END OF
This car oozes character love every aspect of it... Great to see it workin out now
Cheers man, bet you cant either :D
Thanks lads. Don't worry, I shall not dissapoint :)
Everyone in the world not on this site hates them! I love the pink (no pun!) though but as much as I want to keep them if I want to continue to modify the car the way i intend they will be of no use and I need the cash to replace them! (and fix shit :D )
Cheers Ste, ive actually been toying with the idea of selling it for an S13 for a few weeks. I think its just driving the Silvia but no way, I have plans, I shall see them through lol
Dirty datsun go carts put awful ideas in your head but once you get back driving the JZX the dirty datsuns will be forgotten fairy quickly. :)
I hate you.....................
Well not really...love this car, pink wheels are sexual........id love to see this drifting
Dont worry man, ive had a good strong word with myself, won't happen again :p
Yea, the 81 feels like a boat in comparasin to the Silvia, but my "the stig" piggy bank might have to be raided to try sort that end of the car out! And I have a pain in my hole with the clutch in the Silvia too!!
Thanks! It will definately, its been a bit of a lifestlyer car and every penny ive had for it has really gone into fixing it but hopefully I can start using it properly going forward.
how much the 180 go for ....
^^^Its JH.....:)
wooop! hooray for 4 doors and sometimes wanting to sell up and buy an s body! cant beat them though.
What power did it make t feck?
Yip!
Feck all I think, but that was with a split boost pipe so I'm hoping for over the 420 mark......
NOT!! :D if it's over 280 and running safe I'm happy. It still has the cat, standard ic and standard 10psi boost.... I should know later, hopefully when I'm off this flight I'll have some news :)
