I have my chaser up on axle stand since November shockin hard get motivated!!
Since it wasn't raining or snowing I managed to spend a few hours at the car.
It's gonna be a long time before the car looks like this again!!

Started stripping the 5 stud hubs I got to clean them, took off the disc's and discovered that the brake shoes were missing which was a pain in the arse :( just gonna run with the 4 stud hubs for now.
Stripped most of the front end off the car, taking all the arms off the front to tidy them up and replace the arms that are bent. Also got R33 LCA's and they are gonna get extended to give the front a better stance.
Next job is to remove the old steering system to get rid of the HICAS. The car is left looking like this.

I've new shoes here from nissan !!
Just put a hydro in :)
The search for wheels has starts tonight. somewhere in Japland there is mansized wheels for the Cefiro :) Hoooooray!!!
Fave had some VIP wheels up for £399 today profound something with black spokes
Sent ya another set pm
Right update time :) I'm sorry to say I haven't had as much time to work in this due to other commitments, and as PeterT is happy to know (and Cefiro Panch is sorry to hear) the car is going go see the road again and won't be broke.
I'm replacing the rear subframe with one out of a R33 (thanks Pepsterx) so Iv wider track at the rear, the old steering rack is bolloxed and I'm removing the HICAS so I'm putting a S14 steering rack and LCA's in the car (thanks Slithertooth)
It's gonna remain a road car and I'm planning on having it out by the end of the summer. Still waiting for the right set of wheels to show up.
Since the A/C doesn't work it's coming out!! Had a few hours today to spend on the car while the sun was out. I started to remove the dash, and I managed not to break anything :)

Could this be this be the reason the speedo doesn't work??
http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...0DA64F292F.jpg
Should I flock this or leave it how it is??
http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...0DB053AF65.jpg
always a nice feeling pulling out the dash and not breaking anything lol. flock it to feck man. :)
Yea its always a good feeling :) This is how the dash in my Escort turned out when i flocked it

The plan is to remove the A/C as it doesnt work anyway, block up the holes in the bulkhead and then tidy up the wires behind the dash for the radio that wont be used. There is that stupid aerial connector behind the dash, ill be ripping it out and putting in one that works. Plug and play FTW ;)
Since the evenings are bright and all that jazz ill be able to do bits to the car in the evening time, lets all pray it doesnt rain!!
Just noticed your widening the track, not a food idea because the hubs sit very close to the arch line and you won't be able to fit wide wheels then unless you flare the door/bumper/arch!
In short, your gona kick yourself when you go to put a wheel on and the bumper is touching the tyre!
jeeze it went from buying wheels to dismantling the whole car.... put it back on the road cooooooooomeee on...
Ain't the truth haha! What's wrong with the subframe in it:/ haha
Yes, stick it back together it's summer woowoo!
With the fine weather I got a chance to have a go at the car. I'm cleaning up the engine bay, removing the HICAS, covering the A/C holes and spraying the engine bay (had originally planed on spraying it Kawasaki green but Iv now been convinced to spray it purple)
http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...C0E3A5CC85.jpg
Can't believe the weight of the a/c pump!!! I'm not dumping any of the aircon stuff tho just incase I ever plan on putting it back in.

Luckily enough the rain held off long enough for me to get the engine out, was easy enough to get out with the box still bolted on, but I did need to cut a section out of the slam panel.

And there we go, engine bay ready for cleaning
http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...451938A7D6.jpg
Also have longer LCA's and bigger brakes that can go on the car soon

The length of the exhaust is whopper ;)

Your mad!! ;)
This makes me soooo sad!
The HICAS was a pain in the arse to remove, just pipes everywhere. Stayed up until 3:30 on saturday night taking stuff out of the engine bay. Hopefully the weather will hold off over the weekend and ill get the rest of the stuff removed. Then ill be degreasing and sanding the engine bay down and getting it ready for paint. Iv decided on a colour anyway, keeping it in the Nissan family im spraying it Midnight Purple
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o16/J44MAA/028-1.jpg
Yes midnight purple ftw....
Good stuff dude mnp will look kick ass!! Have you settled on wheels yet?
Midnight purple is my favourite nissan colour..brings back great memories of gran turismo 1.
It's just full of win!
just the engine bay in midnight purple? or whole car?
You've stuck your neck out pretty far on how this car will turn out Joe! Mnp will work with so many wheel combos. Sweet! If I get a Nissan again it's got to be a more door
No I havnt a clue what wheels to go for, keep looking at Professors, XXR's, vienna kreis but I just cant decide on what to get in a nice fitment thats 4x114
Cheers dude ;)
The rest of the car is staying black and the engine bay is gonna be midnight purple, maybe spray the rest of the car mnp but not now.
Yea iv gone too far to simply turn back now, 4 door R34 for you dude ;)
Dont think a mnp bay on a black car would look too good,it needs a stand out color against the black or painting the whole car mnp be sweet but xxr's?really?this needs bit dish!
i think dish is the only thing for this the profs that peter had on it looked class
just 5 stud the fucker
Finally managed to get time to go at this again, spent a few hours with the Kevtegra fella and the car now looks something like this...
http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/o...EE9CF9D907.jpg
Just need to seal off the old a/c holes and do a few other bits and its nearly ready for paint :)
swap ya my rb25 r32 for it whenever you ready Joe!
