My new down under ps13

Here is my recently acquired ps13. Pretty good spec on it, cant wait to get to Winton raceway end of this month then Matsuri is the end of November.

Quick Spec: 5 Stud Conversion, S15 Brakes, Adjustable control arms, modified knuckles & steering rack ( all done by engineered to slide check him out ) rebuilt sr20 with low mount td06, 740cc injectors, metal head gasket, arp studs, acl race bearings, rocker stopper, new hd clutch, r33 nismo 2 way diff ( custom solid mounted ) New bc coilovers all round, cusco half cage, bride low max seats, 8 Gallon fuel cell, bosch 044 pump, lift pump, surge tank, triple pass radiator, oil cooler, power steering cooler, Wedsport front rims with federal 595's and volk rear rims with new nexen 8000's, isolated battery, momo drift steering wheel, carbon fibre bonner, chaser lights, oil temp, boost, temp, shift light gauges, whole of extrerior is wrapped in carbon look to tidy it up. Missing lots of other trick bits but that mainly it.

is the afm on the cold side? if so how does that work?

ye was looking at that myself?? looks a well setup car anyway but needs more low :) any power figures?

Chap who built it done that custom. He reckons he put it on the cold side to ensure and accurate reading?

everyone in oz seems to do it! type dose pipe into youtube adn youll get a million videos of cool noises and afm on the wrong sides!

serious spec though! a fun drive id imagine!

is that all the holdens with rb30s that have literally no boost but make a silly dump valve sound???

Ye lots of ps13's around alright. Really well set up car, the chap who built it spent over 20k on it. Its getting new splitfire coilpacks and a map over the weekend to. Here is the chap who set up the steerings blog. Seriously talented fella.....

The joys of owning a drift car......


Had mis-firing issues when car came on boost. From reading on-line the #1 problem tends to be the coil packs. Removed old coil packs, replaced with set of split fire coilpacks and amplifier and still have the same problem, :mad: I am changing the plugs this eve but when I removed them they all looked fine. Still going to do it as a precaution. Any of you sr20 heads suggest anything else to check over to try an eliminate the problem?

Havent seen you on here in a while and you come along with this!

Will make a cool car! Check all your intercooler pipes and hoses somethings got to be loose.

The only other problem iv had like that was gunk and rust in the tank which you will not have.

Fitted new plugs and refitted the coil packs and seems to be running 99% right now. Just a very slight miss at the top end of rev range but hardly noticeable. Will have another check around all piping and hosing this eve. It was lying idle for a while so maybe just needs a good long drive to iron stuff out.

So..... the car developed a slight miss under high boost. I have done all your regular checks, plugs, leads, coil packs, fuel pump, all wiring etc etc. I couldnt seem to get to the bottom of it so decided to bring it to a local silvia specialist. He is going through it to try an get to the bottom of it. One thing he wasnt happy with was having the AFM on the opposite side to normal? I am not up to speed mechanically to give an opinion but what do people think? Is he correct in wanting to move it to other side?
