Well lads..

Just joined there today .My altezza Failed on exhaust noise levels yesterday its a cat back system dunno what make..

Ordered a silencer there today .. will it pass with a Silencer in the Backbox??

The also failed it on Emissions but i think its due to the fact the engine was cold when the tested it..car was parked at test centre for about 4hrs before testing..

How did they measure the exhaust note? from differant angles etc?? just stuff lots of wire wool down it, think thats what ill do if i have to.

As for emissions, the car needs to be at running temp, question that.

Obvious question but is there a cat in the car? Unusual for an Altezza to be over 99db with just a cat back?

Going to try it with the wire woll in the Exhaust aswell as the silencer baffle in the backbox..


I dunno which way the tested the noise levels man..i left the car in the test centre at 8am before work and the test was at 11.50am so i persume teh car was cold when the tested it

Running oil temp will be on your fail sheet

Yea Cat is in the car lad and the middle box there aswell

i honestly didnt think it would fail on the noise level as to be honest it not all that noisey at all..after spending a fair few pound on it for the test and it to fail on simply things like noise etc
