check the vacume pipe thats goin to the actuator from the boost solinoid on the right turret!!
see can you move the actuator arm goin to the wastegate by hand could be tight from left idle doubt it but try it anyway.
Rite been out at the car for the evenin, i blocked the airfilter pipe and put 2bar of pressure in to the system got a few minor blows tightened clips and that sorted them out no more leaks then started the car and no change at all?????
check your waste gate, it shouldnt be open on idle.
i like stuff
Bit of an update, Defo no leak had 2bar in the system and no leaks,
checked sensor's
removed:
Afm: car cut out
Trottle position: car reved up
o2: no change! should there be a change here?
If i remove a vacume line there no change either!!!
Anyone in meath with diagnostics to check the silvia?
Just an update, martain tracey told me he would put it down to leaking compression on a valve or piston ring, with the engine only rebuilt i was hoping it wasn't and the only thing i tought it could be to do this is the vtc removed is messing with the timing on low rpm so i stuck it back in along with a set of rocker arm stoppers and so far so good vacuum is back good and idling nice at 800-900rpm..
Thanks for the suggestions ppl
Bobby
Good man, I saw similar problem with s14 in KK, thought it was down to coilpacks (melted) but didn't realize timing can affect running so much.
On that car there was boost when engine was revved up, and huge amount of exhaust gas blowing on idle, just couldn't believe it. It was after h/g job so someone didn't put it back as it should be then.
The fact is what is it like when it works......
