Default Loud rattle coming from my engine when idle

Driving a non turbo s15 whenever im idle a loud rattle comes fro the engine been told its a vvt rattle and doesnt cause damage, but its fairly annoying and makin the car sound like a dirty diesel. Is this a simple fix? What does it involve to get it to stop?

you could get a new one, big money from nissan or around 100 quid second hand... you can also use the sprocket from the intake cam on black top 180 engine but you will loose your vvt....

quiet annoying alright changed a few in me own cars from time to time....

put your car into gear, rev past 1050 rpm, if it dissapears = vvt (thats the point when it engages afaik and it filles up with oil and stops jerking around)
if it doesnt = something else
