    engine box and loom 1400

    turbo 1000

manifold down pipe etc gaskets 500

    cradle 50

    intercooler and piping 250

steel for new slam pannel and fitting 100

    wiring labour 200

    forge kit 500-1000

    intake plen 300

    fuel rail 200

    injectors 400

prop cut and balanced etc 50

    management 500 - 1000

    mapping 350- 500

and thats coming close to 7k without counting stupid small things you get from motor factors and the above is doing most of the work ourselves

like i said its a never ending list and imo anyone that puts a bog standard rb25 into a 180 is the ''fucking fool'' cause with about 1000 quid you could have an sr running the same power for alot less expense and hassle oh and actually have a car that handles

you still need turbo which means manafold and exhaust to do it right other wise tuning sr is cheaper and makes more sense

but i suppose thats the choice someone has to make, throw a standard rb in on the cheap £3k and get 300-350 brake or tune your sr for 1500 and get 300-350 brake with bolt on parts without adding weight and altering the handling

man a full conversion kit will have turbo and all, a standard RB tubo id good for 350 safe!

accept your "mates" overpaid for what they got and suck it up

and tune the sr even more with the extra 1500 you would be spending on the rb anyway and your bhp will go up even more making the sr a better idea if you spend the same amount either way

    lol exactly

both mates builds have been done as cheaply as possible..., your missing my point, unless you are looking for 450-500 horse theres no way its worth doing and doing the whole thing for 350 brake is pointless, the 7k build is going to be 450-500hp when mapped and the 5k mapped will be 420hp ish

like i said spend your money on ur sr engine and you will get better value for money unless your after big hp, a standard sr with 3k spent will be near on 400hp or spend 3k putting in a standard rb and have 350

you shouldnt need to spend near 3k on engine bits to make a sr 400bhp. Few choice mods and the right turbo would do that nicely.

    sr ftw

    i like stuff

im assuming by standard we are talking about engine internals and that everything possible has been done to max out the stock ecu for eg, exhaust system, fmic, air filter...all the usual bolt on shnit

leaving just management, injectors, afm, mhg and turbo, then throw 1.4bar at it
