    Default Gearbox thoughts

Well folks my car has a r33 engine so presume a r33 box. Anyways got box oil changed at wknd now car is grindin going into 4th from 5th.. Its grand going up gears just not comin down.. It does this at motorway speeds.. Town speeds seem ok
And also if I clip throttle to bout 4k and then go from 5th to 4th it seems fine.problem only occurs when at bout 3k.. Never did this before oil change... Oil is correct grade but not performance brand..

did you put back in the same brand oil that you took out...get a ticker oil....has worked wonders for me in the past...there is obviousely a problem with your box and the older ticker oil was shielding this, your new oild is now nice a fresh but thiner and is now exposeing the problem,,cheep fix ticker oil should sort it...proper fix inspect whats the actual problem with the box and sort it!...p.s why does your car have a 33 motor?

Thats the craic she said with one leg on the dash and nothing on but the radio............

Maybe there was an additive in the old oil that masked the problem. Try buy some of that and lob it in.

My box is similar, on downchange from 3rd to 2nd its notchy. Its not grinding. I was worried but Powervehicles said it was fine, ive changed the oil for redline box oil and it was the same. If i heel toe its not notchy at all, and its fine everywhere else. It actually feels like downchanging a dog box, almost exactly the same to be honest

Someone else told me they had an r154 rebuilt and was still notchy.

Im no expert but if its notchy, not grinding i wouldnt worry unless its getting worse

"its cool i guess, but where are the other 2 doors?"
