    s13 speedos aren't worth shit tho, they are known to be all over the shop.
    mine reads 80 at idle sometimes

    its odd like for example jay on here has gone through many sr boxes, he alwas blows 5th and that takes reverse with it when it goes. 5th and reverse share a shaft but a different shaft to any other gears.so if 2nd is gone surely that means i should at least have 5th and reverse???????

    it wil read a speed in neutral, and second is the nearst gear to the running speed on tick over that is why you can get it with out grinding if you bring up the revs a small bit leave it reving for a sec then you will get 3rd with out grinding, id say personally its either your diff, prop shaft or output shaft from the box, i was standing right on the corner when she let go was a good oul bang

    yeah your probably right there. but the fact that i cant get 2nd to grind at all indicates that its more than likely gone

    iv no problem getting the gears i was purposely trying to grind them purely to see if they where still there, if you get what i mean, but not able to get 2nd to grind

    i think he means rev matching instead of using the clutch, the spped its spinning at on idle is the same as 2nd, so rev a bit and try 2nd it will grind but slide into 3rd
