i am sure you know this is a vtc solenoid i was calling it a vvt solenoid sorry this controls the flow of oil to the vvt sproket it stops the flow of oil to the vvt sproket at around 5k
jesus does any1 even read threads anymore. if i was so concerned bout usin a vtec controller id buy a fuckin honda.

If we are talking about custom fitting/custom wireing then of course anything is possible, that goes without saying.
But if you were to wire a v-tec controller of some sort into the loom and adjust the point at which the pressure is cut off then you would need to have the car mapped to suit the different engine characteristics, and if you are having a vvt sr20 mapped with mods etc then you don't require the vvt at all, you can compensate with he map as the vvt is designed to operate together with the standard turbo etc etc.

I fitted a vtec controller to my 180sx with VVt engine.
The car is still running redtop s13 wiring and ecu, but the later vvt engine.
Tweek is right in what he is saying, The VVT sprocket is controlled by the solenoid, fact.
In a nissan the vvt solenoid is powered until 5500rpm iirc, and switches off after that, but a honda is off and switches on when the rpm is reached. So i used a 5 pin relay to get around that problem.
I had the car mapped by Robbie @tdp using a power FC, and the car made 360bhpand hasnt skipped a beat since
