lots of the cheaper mani's tend to break.. on my old s14 it had a standard one and never gave any bother, never blew a gasket r anthing...

in the drift car there was a cheap one which cracked in no time,i stuck in a tomei manifold and its perfect since. that was pricey..

maybe if cheap ones had good welds an well braced they wud be fine, along with flexi downpipe be all the better.....

alot of them cracking is caused by exhaust movement too, hitting speed ramps, etc.. make sure u have good mounts..

    ive a japspeed mani

fitted it a year ago, plus it was used already, no problems whatsover and got no damper, exhaust is moving up and down while im over ramps (car's pretty low, ya know), no problems SO FAR
but i know i probably havnt gained a ponny by puttin one on and probably lost some torque, them manifolds are only to be changed once your over 300bhp really..

The main reason they break is due to the exhaust movement puttin pressure on them by swingin, the swingin also causes studs to work loose and thats what fecks up gaskets and that, an engine damper sounds good along with a flexi downpipe, maybe get another bracket welded in somewhere Sure fit it and see how ya get on johno!
