    Default WTF is this?

while unscrewing the gear surround in the s14a this evening, i found this box behind the centre console, it lookes to have phone line style ports on it and one of the leads even looked like a phone/moden style flat cable.
it also had 2 plastic dials that youd adjust with a small screw driver.

couldnt make out the marking on it though.
it was right in under where the back of the ash tray and cig lighter would be sitting on the trans tunnel.

took a pic of a few bits of loom that where visable in the slot for the radio aswell as the plug on the box had wires of the same colour as some of these but didnt have time to look any further into it. there was 3 lables on the loom here aswell, one with FR, one with FL and one with REAR on it.

Most likely a phone kit, i'd say.

dont think the car has an alarm. i never got a fob or one anyway and i asked about that and was told there wasnt one.

unless it was from an old alarm that was pulled out.

oh, and theres also a switch like this
    http://image.made-in-china.com/2f0j0...r-Switches.jpg
that i found hidden under the centre console under the gear surround and the 2 wires seem to be wired into the bundle of wires pictured.
it appears to do nothing though as flicking it on the move had seemingly no effect. and nothing happened turning the car off and back on with the switch in either position.

theres a donor s14 in the workshop and most of it's loom is in the boot, going to go through that tomorrow and see if i can find anything similir in it.

i did think of a phone kit alright but i'm not sure.
i'll have to add it to the list of questions i have for the chap who built it.
