injectors failing sr20det

ok try make this as short as possible my head gasket blew last week, i had a fresh engine there just built was run in an all, was gonna use this for the track car im building but decided to throw it in my road car and just do the head on the other one an use it for the track car as im in no hurry at the min.

anyway got the engine in fired up started misfiring changed coils,plugs etc turned out 2 of my injectors had failed there sard 550 s sump was full of petrol ,taut that was bit strange cause they where fine in my old engine, so i drained the oil,done a compression test all good, have another set of sard 550 s so put 2 fresh ones in done a flow test no leaks so put them in had the car running grand so took it for a spin not even half a mile down the road it started splutering an died got it back injector failed again can anyone shed some light on this cause its doing my head in

what s causing them to fail?

hmmm unless there was injector(s) staying open?? something like that never heard of that b4 its an odd one

Ye I cant really understand how 2 of them failed, ok pulled the injector again just there seem ok not leaking an no petrol leaking one of the mechanics here was messing with the (cas) last night could that have anything to do with it I set it back on the old marks im not sure how to do the timing never done it before have some spare coilpacks here to gonna try them aswell any ideas ?

Your o rings are leaking...
have you the proper O rings on them???
nearly everyone fits the wrong o rings to them!!!!

I didn't touch the o rings at all just took them from one engine into another was at it again last night ruinin worse than ever I'm gonna change the igniter chip and check the injector wiring again out of ideas after that

aahhh that makes sense could have pinched on or two maybe?

yeah id say o rings got damaged or that, happened me before if you remove them at a bit of an angle they split very easy hope thats all it is

Got it sorted lads , was at that stage of I'm fuckin selling this car, turns out it was a frayed wire for one of the injectors down the loom a bit took a long time to find cause I was still getting a voltage from it , all sorted new engine running perfect

Track car got a shell off Frank off here gonna start building it in a couple of week s it ll be bit different than most leave it at that for now prob put up a thread in a bit
