Default Can someone explain battery relocation for dummies?

Well lads, i have to relocate my battery to the boot as the fmic piping has taken it's place so i have a few questions for you in the know.

    1. What spec cable do i ask for when buying it and where should i try for best value/quality?
    2. What kind of connectors or crimps should i get?
    3. Should i run them under the car or inside the car? I'd prefer inside but was told they can overheat???
    4. Are battery boxes readily available to buy for handy money or would i be better off making one up?
    5. Any other tips or advice you may have?

I'd really appreciate any help i can get. Tryin to do most of this stuff myself to learn as i go along so if anyone feels generous enough to give step by step instructions it'd be fantastic!

    Thanks for reading.

    Andrew.

I got some 35mm 200amp wire from kelly's welding supplies in coolmine industrial estate fr 25e including vat. I got 4 metres which suited my s13 but could be different depending on the car and where you ran it. I ran it inside the car down along beside the drivers seat under the carpet. Been tryin to feel any heat but nothing yet. I made a metal braket at custom metal works and bolted the battery to the floor. I'm keeping an eye out for a cover at the min but it's uncovered at the mo. then just get some clamps the connect te wires and that's it.

If ya need anything else just ask

why dont you leave the battery where it is an jus turn it they fit perfect when you turn them to the side . you have to have them done right for the nct when ya rolocate them less hassle and hardship when you leave them under the bonnet

    1.you'll need 35mm mininum
2.I used 35mm2 straight through crimps
3.run them on the inside of the car making sure that the cable won't wear of any edges and cause the car to go up in flames ;-)
4.you can get battery boxes from any rally suppliers or on line
5.make sure to use a fuse on the cable as close as you can to the battery.don't use a metal or alu battery box well that's just me I don't like them. You will only get heat in the cable if something is wrong loose connection or something like that it will rake Alot to heat 35mm2.also I like to run a couple of extra earths when I relocate the battery and it makes it easier to run a direct feed to the fuel pump switched through a relay.
    Hope this helps
