    Default Fitting spacers to steering rack

    Hi guys iv got 6mm spacers for the rack. do i fit these til both sides?
    after i fit what next??
    Never done this before so any help be very helpful..

    edit(r33 skyline btw)

    6mm spacers are way to big for stock inner tie rods there will not be enough tread left and it will pull out the first big bump you hit!

    wot about the steering going over centre. how do u overcome this or how much can u grind off the bumpstops untill this happens

    Most will say 7mm worth of washers is the max, euro coins are approx 2mm each so 3 euro coins each side would give you approx 6mm extra travel each side.. Then, as you say, the lock-stops on the wishbone need to be ground down to allow for the extra-lock.

    If you remove too much from you lock-stop then yeah, your steering will most likely to go over centre, you can see as your grinding down the lock-stop, turn the wheel on full-lock and see if it starts to become difficult to turn back.. You'll see the possition the tie-rod is trying to force the (example) passenger wheel back from full-lock when on full-lock to the left isnt ideal and makes it difficult to return from full lock, this is why moving your steering rack forward is important when running alot of extra-lock!
