Just gonna update this with whats goin on at the minute.

First of all the helicoil did not work fixing the oil feed line so I whipped the engine out and took it to a neighbours engineering company and got them to put in an extended banjo bolt and do a bit of fixing so hopefully they have it sorted now... fingers f**kin crossed

I have it back and it looks like a good job, i've turned the engine over by the starter and theres no leaks but i wont really know for sure until it's back in and running.

While I have the engine out i've decided im gonna fit an Apex oil cooler kit and filter relocator to make it handier to change the filter so i've ordered this and i'm just waiting on it to arrive before i fit it and put the engine back in.



I'm also going to clean up the engine bay and intercooler and piping. I've got heat wrap to do the turbo elbow and downpipe and also a oil catch can. Some of the vacuum hoses are perished so i've bought some new hose...

I've been gathering like a squirrel for the last few weeks to give the car a good overhaul now while i'm at it and this is most of the stuff i've got so far:





New gearbox oil



New oil for the 2 way




New Engine Oil




And since i've fitted the bootlid i have'nt had the car on the road so have'nt taken any proper pics yet but hear is how it looks (I know it wont be to a lot of peoples tastes so if you don't like it you can always press "Alt + F4" to let me know )

And as you can see i also removed the rear wiper




Next things i'm going to order is some pressed jap plates and aerocatches to get rid of the bonnet pins...

Coolio! Id pull the cable ties out and put black ones in though, too clean looking to pull off the stitched up look!

My bumpers are slightly tatty now though and the ties are there for a reason haha, the front was in about 8 pieces and im not gonna fibreglass them as that would require paint as well lol

Did some of the heat wrapping on the autobahn88 turbo elbow and downpipe.. Seems like very good stuff, soaked it in water first so it can stretch a bit then once it heats up and drys it'll tighten up more.

The oil cooler and relocater kit should be here tomorrow so ill be fitting that and dropping the engine back in some day this week to get her running and see if the oil line is sorted or not.. fingers crossed

UPDATE


Good news this evening, i finally got the engine into place and oil cooler and relocator fitted.....i had the engine running there and everything seems spot on, i did the gearbox and coolant and i just flushed the old oil out of it and im gonna put in the Fuchs engine oil in the morning along with doing the diff oil.

Its now running grand and no major problems

So all round a good day...
