Right about time I got this thread up, I bought this S2000 a little while back with some rear damage and with no engine, box or loom. Meself and John (the bro) decided that this was the car to build into a proper fast drift car even tho the setup could take a while, and it will be different
So the plans for the car at the min are.....
Forged F20c with linered block for the boost
Full-race exhaust manifold depending on funds
In around Gt30/35r size blower with custom housings
E46 M3 6 speed box
GTR Skyline rear diff and custom shafts
Suspension I haven't decided on yet
MoTeC M84 ECU with launch controll, anti lag, lambda controll
Pedal box
Full custom TDP T45 roll cage
Evo 7 Brembo 4pot front Brembo 2pot rear with custom TDP bells and disc's
Parts I have aquired,,,,,,
F20c engine
GTR diff and shafts
Brembo front calipers
Pedal box,,,,,
That is the basic outline of the setup but the main difference of this build is the time I am spending on the chassis, every un-necessary kg is coming out of the car as you will see from the pics
Anyway I will explain everything in detail as I get through the build,
The car had to go to the body shop first because the back chassis needed a little pull![]()
And this is how it came back,,,, The stripping started,,
All the basic stripping done,
Front subframe out,
Rear subframe out,
This is where the weight saving startsThere is alot of excess chassis bracing in the S2000 due to having no roof, so all of it has to go
The new cage will do all the bracings job and better,,, and away we go on the spot welds
Alot of the underneath strenghtning can go too,
Time to get the sills off, a whole lot of not nice heavy side impact protection in behind them that needs to go,
After a whole shit load of spot welds, finally got one side done and set into the other side,
Thats all the pics for this week will have more at the weekend I hope, it takes so much time removing chassis parts because of the spot welds il keep you all updated as much as possible!
