I would agree with Kieran if you haven't the ecu got, wouldn't it be better to get the a proper ecu like the Haltech Sprint 500 for example http://www2.haltech.com.au/index.php...=120&Itemid=88.

That would be the cheapest Haltech, and gives a few good features over the megasquirt.

Megasquirt from a quick glance has more features than that, probably cheaper, and more importantly comes with a map on it for an mx5

Had no internet for a while there, only on my phone so was too awkward to reply. But cheers for the replies and I'll try and answer a few now.

And there not to bad to use, I've managed to get my car running well with the bigger injectors and all which involved abit of work. But messing with the fuel and spark tables is another thing all together!
Yeh as soon as I went looking I realised you had the same software, the image of the tables etc triggered in my head, so you're the man I should have first asked. Where did you get yours btw? Did you buy it new or second hand? I've seen it for sale on quite a few places alright but just wondering is there anywhere cheaper. Also do you plan to get rid of your AFM, and if so did you get the IAT sensor stuff aswell, and did you also get a 02 wideband?

Seems to be a front runner. Have only heard good things about him, and have been pm'd details.

Basically as Timmy said theres very few ecus that would be designed/plug and play for the mx5. Hydra and Link ecus would also be an option, but really dont want to spend maybe twice the price for an ecu if at all possible, especially when I dont see any obvious advantages?

I'm still only in the theory stage Jamie, so dont really want to annoy and waste ppls time yet. Just want to know its possible, and that i have options, so I dont end up trying to do it all myself.

And in general what would ppl roughly expect it to cost from start to finish. If I dont do anything myself even. Just a very rough guide would help. I'm guessing maybe the 400 mark?
