Difference between S15 turbo and 180sx turbo?

Hey guys. i tried to search this but nothing came up.


I wondering how to see the difference between the S15 tubby and standard turbo that comes in a 180sx?

any1 have a serial number or anything?

s15 is ball bearing and the 180sx turbo wasnt
im pretty sure they are the same size and everything else other than that open to correction though

a standard 180sx turbo is a t25g. it comes between the t25 and the t28 if you get me.

a s15 turbo is a ballbearing t28 and much better

ya the t25 is smaller and only has ordinary bush bearings. and is only able for approx 250hp...s15 t28 is ball bearing turbo, its a bit bigger and is able for approx 350 hp max so there is a nice differance dare..

i saw something before about being able to tell by looking in at the turbine? maybe theres another way, one of the other lads might be able to tell ya, ill have a look now too to see if i can find where i read it

i was told theres a number on the turbo??

theres a little plate on it with numbers on it, they come with different codes afaik, i think the s15bb one is 14411-91f00, im open to correction on this, this is all shit i read

alan opel had a great litle bit posted up a while ago listing all the turbos and the codes that go with them, send him a pm, he might be able to give it to you!
