    Default Rev clock not working???

Had my car parked up for the last week or so because of the snow and ice. Its a 98 180. Got into it today and notice the rev needle was bouncing all over the place and not reading acuratly. Got into the car later on again and it worked perfect for a couple of minutes then stopped working completly then started bouncing around the place again. Kinda sounds like a bad connection or something to me but dont know where or anything??? Any help or suggestions would be great, Thanks
