    Go for an uprated cosworth gasket great peice of kit

    it would be criminal to go put back on a standard gasket when the head is off

    If you need to skim the head make sure to get the block checked it might need to be decked.when you get the head skimmed ask them how much they took off and then you'll know if you need a bigger headgasket.

    its not really important to skim the head unless it overheated but if ya do like above get a cosworth gasket but ask the machine shop what they took off and order it then! they shouldnt have to take a whole lot off if the engine wasnt overheating they would be basicly just cleaning up the surface!

    thing is it did overheat!!! so send it in pressure check then skim and then what ever amount they took off i have to get a gasket to make the difference up.redoing the head while its there,stem seals,reseat valves etc

    Whats the price on a cosworth gasket?can they be got handy??

    @tweek whats decking the block?like a skim??

    Most important thing of all!

    ASK THE MACHINE SHOP BEFORE THEY SKIM IT TO MAKE NOTE OF HOW MUCH IS SKIMMED OFF!

    I work doing it every day & so many heads get skimmed you will just be told the normal which is taken off, so to be exact ask before hand.
