    Red face s15 boost problem

    Well basically i took the car for a quick spin last nite,comin back a few metres from home the car startin splutterin and wouldn't really rev and then cut out,pulled into the shed and started it and it was splutterin and wont tick over,revved it up and no boost

    took off pipes round turbo awhile ago to check the shaft and its perfect,no play atall

    so basically i want to know is my turbo f**ked cos there is no boost or have i another problem,not much to go on i know but some idea would be helpful

    any help appreciated

    First thing to do check every pipe for a boost leak. Same thing happened my car and I found that a pipe had blown off, my car was acting exactly like you just described. If you have a compressor turn off the car and hook the compressor up to some boost pipe on the car and listen for a leak because it pretty hard to hear a leak when the car is running.

    @baz that would seem more lik the problem alright,which pipe had come off on you

    Its was a pipe down at the standard intercooler in my 180 its was suppsoe to be blocked but the blank came off. I'd say the way you described it that it must be one of the main pipes. Also there was lots of smoke when I reved up mine

    if thrs no smoke and no play in turbo and no boost leak could well be afm

    thanks lads,was an intercooler pipe after all between the intake and intercooler

    all good now

    god damn joiners, they are a curse, TOLD YA SO :P wel i wasnt too far off and that was a couple days ago, did that sort out all the misfire issues?
