Hydro handbrake in a road car

Hi all, has anyone on here put in a hydro handbrake in there road car and try to pass the nct with it??

Im building a drift car but also want it for the the road as there is no point in wasting the car sitting on a trailer but the hydro is worrying me about passing the nct, i was even going to leave the standard handbrake aswell for everyday use but will the guys in the nct freak when they see they hydro??

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hydro not allowed for nct man even if you leave your standard 1 in it still fail

mine going in tomorrow, iam keeping them both, standerd and hydro
better i tink, use the hydro for drifting and stnadede for everday use

alan rite aswell, they wouldnt pass a nct,
donno why do .............................
considering in my casue i have shoes and pad on the rear

I have the same dilema myself, i saw a very tidy job on this site a few weeks back where a guy had worked a neat hydro into where the standard handbrake goes, and fitted the standard plastic surround back on it so you couldn't tell that it was a hydro. Just leave the cables in place so that when the NCT are checking underneath they think its a standard cable handbrake - looked very tidy

Mine passed with it & my car was psv'd & the gardai said nothing about it

Its just a case of try it so and see how it get on, i think il definately leave the standard handbrake in aswell for everyday parking etc.

Its and upright im putting in so putting it where the original one goes with a gaiter on it wouldnt exactly have the nct boys thinking it was standard.

Why don't you :
a) Put it in after the nct
OR
b) Pm Davie and throw him a few quid to do the job on your car as he did to his

I was also thinking that but it would be a pain in the whole taking it out and putting it back in again before and after every test bleeding it and all that shite.

Especially if it will have to be tested every year as its a 98 14a, if that law ever comes to pass.

have you pics of what davie did??
