Default insureance options, what would you do?

    Update on page 2 !!

Well lads i just bought a s15, so i rang around looking for quotes yesterday and was delighted at what offers i got . Im 22 with 4 years driving exp, 4 years NCB, and 4 Penalty points.

Axa 867 (who im currently with on a civic),
    Quinn 870,
Both 3rd party fire and theft,

now i think they are really good quotes, but iv been thinking i might keep a second car, because id be very wery of where id park the silvia, running costs ect. what is the best option?

if quinn still do 3 party extension, insure the s15 fully comp, stick the civic in the brothers name, and drive the 1.4 civic under the 3rd party extension? or is there another way around it?

    any advice?

    cheers lads
    Alan

That must be a non turbo s15 is it?? Great quotes either way.

I would do what your saying to do but remember if the civic gets stolen it wont be covered as there wont be an actual policy on the car.

Would do the same only I would insure the smaller car fully comp which would be cheaper and then drive the 15 on the 3rd party extension

no, gave the reg and it came back as a spec r, ya id probably be driving the civic more than the s15, but it wouldnt be worth that much to me at this stage anyway. only thing is wont i get stopped by any traffic core that have the numberplate reconition cameras? because when they read the plate of the civic, it will come back with no insureance, but wont i still be ok?

i think i read before that there are constraints within the 3rd party extension, that it cant be over 2000cc, cannot be modified, ect. and TBH it would be silly not to have fully comp on a car like this

yeah you can be stopped but you should be grand as long as you have your insurance documents with you. The only thing that you can be done for is none display of an insurance disc but you would need to get a ballbag of a gard or be talking back to him for them to bother.
