OIL COOLERS - Are they worth it?

Keeping this short.Iv found there problematic.I have none on track car and it runs A1 during track days.

I have 1 in the 20v and it runs perfect too but tend to think its unnecessary?
do they do engine more good or bad?

Just thinkin of taking mine out.

never liked them and unless i was going to spend about 500 on a brand new good quality thermostatic one i wouldnt put one near my car! but as for the one on ur car if its there and giveing no problems leave it there

Wouldnt like to run a non-thermostatic one on a road car anyways, constant stopping/starting of the engine means for the moments the cars started the only oil being pumped around is through the cooler?

yea i still dont know wether to take it off or leave it so.Its not a thermostatic 1 either..its an earls oil cooler straight from the block no re-locator.

standard cars have em sometimes and jeeps so its hard to know? id like facts an shit

people always bark on about needing them, i dont have one on the nova, and my oil temp wouldnt go above 105 degrees no matter how hard im thrashin it and thats boosting at 1.2 bar! altho if i wer goin using a nissan for doin drift days id think about fittin one, simply because they hold such a small amount of oil the extra volume would help and with such a small amount of oil its gona get hotter quicker! a road driven n/a car would never need an oil cooler!

Standard UK AE86's had them?? Ive heard so much bad feedback about cheap aftermarket ones they come across as been more riskier than there worth, I have one here but in 2 minds what to do with it!

if yer worried just fit an oil temp guage an see if a cooler is needed

Anyone drifting without a proper oil cooler is CRAZY!!!!! My car for instance...Big cooler huge fan on oil cooler...3n hard laps of Bishopscourt, oil temp 120deg...2 more laps 150deg...
You really notice it when you have a car on the rollers...oil temps would scare you if you dont have a good cooler...

would it stop low oil pressure???? im changing my oil in my car to a 20/50 cuz the shit that was in it was giving low pressure! and i am going to put a proper oil cooler off the aul lads mk2 escort rally car on to mine/?
