i no this car,,hasnt got and easy life 2 say the least,its been through a few rough hands,....was very smokey the last time i seen it running,,,turbo on it is an s14 turbo which was only put on a few weeks back!!

Id say it has alright, country folk! Thats good that the turbo is only on it a few weeks, hopefully the smoke was from a previous dead turbo! its clean now compared to what it will be like!

Interesting! yeh turbo has been swapped out for another one, not too sure on the story with it tbh will only be able to take it apart once I have it at home like. was the engine rebuilt when the timing belt was done would ya think? think it was done about 10,000 miles ago acording to the tip ex!

i think so but that was about 5 years ago. it wasnt long on the road after that then it was sold, it went through 4 or 5 hands since and never put on the road so theres prob still only 10,000 mile on that engine since it was done, but in sayin that it was always a bit noisey. Is the bootlid still rotten in her or has it been changed?

noisy in what way? Couldnt get a proper listen to it as i just had the afm infront of the intake plenum to get it ticking over.

Bootlid is either fillered or changed. Doesnt bother me though as its going on track!

what people seem to foget when they "rebuild" these engines is to get the crank redone, if you dont do that, then whats the point? engines just gonna go again!

use 10w50 or 15w50 oil, this also helps! but your engine has got 170,000 miles of hard abusive driving on it, ANY engine after that amount mileage is probably gonna die, so just give it hell and have fun until it dies and then swap it for another 200 euro ca engine!

they tend to pop up on here a bit! like people ask 300 to 400 euro for them, but they probably sell for like 150-to 200, any ive ever talked to has picked them up for that!(mines been going strong for 4 years BOO YAA!!!)

england is littered with them, thats your best bet, if you could figure out some way of getting them over cheap then you would be sorted! (did evojeepgal have some sort of parts service going??)

also get yourself onto sxoc.com , anything and everything you want for a ca18 will be up for sale on there!
