nothing wrong with denso plugs in a Toyota, they come from factory with them.
yes the gap on your new plug is too large, every time i change the plugs in my 1jz i'v to adjust the plug gaps.

its deffo your gap on them, new ones should be gapped to the same as the old ones
You can gap this & gap that lads. Ive worked with many mechanics & plenty of lads that were handy on Jap cars.
If you need yer machine sorted take it to Robbie. Simple as.
Take it to this expert & that genius. No prob work away with who YOU know.
Spend the extra 50 quid. Ive been around this block too many times.
I mite be full of shit or whatever i get branded with. Anything other than an oil & filter on my cars goes to TDP.
Sooner the better people cop on like I did.
Im not talking shit. Just dropped off my 500bhp Chaser for a few engine tweeks while im on holiday. Lets see what the boys can make of it.

You could have a dead plug either, sounds like its running right bad.
As wez said it good to have the right man at the car but Eric's from cork and changing plugs SHOULD be a straight forward job
400 horses............. 1 jockey
I sorta disagree here Wez, Why waste money when you can just gap it to the same spec as your old plug and try that its not gonna to cost a penny, Fixing the gap to see will it fix the problem is what Id be trying anyway. Its not a engine rebuild he wants. Im not getting at ya here but its only plugs like and the problem was further narrowed down when the old ones worked fine.
denso plugs are utter shite!! and if any one wants to disagree iv got a pile of them here to show people how bad they realy are!! so fire them out over a ditch and get a set of NGKs an check the gap on them before fitting shud be grand!
yes yo get your car sorted when its not something simple then for sure take it to robbie, but the amount of times ive ripped my car apart and put it back together and robbie knowing that, if i went to him with incorrect gaps on the plugs he'd just slap me (well have big Mr stone do it) and send me home.
but anything i cant do myself goes to robbie, and anything i can do myself i do.
My car came with Denso's, but Powervehicles put in HKS iridium plugs, but after fowling them several times I went out and bought a new set of the Denso's that were originally in the car and it has been perfect since...
I was told to go with NGK plugs but I never got the full model number, i'll try them the next time though...
And yes I'm aware of the irony of my car being currently broken downIts not plugs though!
P.S. what should the gaps be then?
Once its sorted, i want another spin eric![]()
What boost dose it run?
