boring is certainly not a word id associate with twincams drifting, youve obviously never drove one in anger or seen the face of a lad that just hopped out of one from a good cut round mondello

the reason the srd ones look good is nothing to do with the engine but its the lads driving them are generally twincam lads who started out with 4ages and there well used to getting every once out of an engine so with the extra power regardless of what plant it is they are spectacular

so im assuming donnie in the 20v does nothing for you?

wouldnt agree with that really and i dont give a shit who the drift king is

if anyone can control a car while using all of those 300 horsies sideways theyre a legend in my book

what he should be sayin is anyone can "initiate" a drift with 300bhp under the shoe not so with only 124bhp

all i`ll say is given a choice i`d pick a standard 16v over any of the conversions done to an ae86. i`ve had 20v, turbo, and sr cam`s and theres no comparison..... 4age win`s.

The sound of the 4age screaming comeing round the corner is way more impressive aswell, ...

is it true that the 4age engine is fairly bullet proof???

    yeah there a good engine..

there strong but everything has limits, if you just want a daily that can give you a skidding session here and there then the ae86 is the way to go. and once you crack getting it sideways you`ll be a very happy chappy

I suggest you get a drive in one before you comment, I had a silvia before and how id describe the drive was laid back like sunday driving put the boot down and the arse lets go, Fine you say thats what drifting is all about but its the fun you have getting the arse out on a 4age ae86,

    Were you at citywest?

Donnie was in the 20v booter on the limiter nearly the whole way around the track, Should have went through in my opinion.

dunno what your idea of drifting is but if the cams you seen didnt look to be doin it then its the lads driving them at fault not the car ,its well capable with the right mods

they appear frantic, messy, unable to link corners through long distances but youd really need to drive one to appreciate what the lads "who dont be doin much driftin"are putting the car through to keep it sideways

tell ye what if your out on the 25th of september ye can take my car for a rip,you may be shocked with the lack of power but i challenge you not to have fun drivin it! ill drive your car, reckon i wouldnt make head nor tail of it never drove rwd turbo car i wouldnt know what to do with the lag!
    im game if you are
