right got the afm sorted n she's driving grand again but cuts out on idle, turbo timer says the battery level is not goin above 11.6 most of the time? Do these symptoms indicate fooked alternator? If so will it be ok if i get it rewound?

Ok i never did anything about this cos it fixed itself after that but now it's gone all fucky on me again. Smoke and splutters on cold idle. . But when warm it's boosting and driving way better than ever but wont tick over itself, i.e it cuts out once revs go below 1100rpm.

    Electrics or what lads??

You could try cleaning the idle control valve "it's at the end of the inlet manifold".

    Will do, thanks cooldrft.

Note: The two times this occurred was when I jump started the car after having left the lights on, also the battery didn't hold charge after jumping and driving for ten mins, parked it up again and had to jump it again after a half hour of being parked, drove 20 miles over the road and now it's holding charge but still have running problem???
