    Can someone explain for instance 8 195 45 r17? I presume the 8 is the width of wheel, the 195 is the width of tyre in mm, whats the 45? and the 17 is the size of wheel.

    where you getting the 8 from?
    45 is the tyre profile 17 18 etc is wheel size

    On the tyre stretch website they have 8,9,10 etc infront of all there example pics and I was presuming that was width of wheel.... Can you explain what profile I should go for?

    the profile is basically the height of the sidewall.
    you're right, the first number is the witdh of the wheel from the innside of the lip to the inside of the lip. (bead to bead)
    just look at the examples and see what you like best.

    165 45 15 is the streach for you but will be a cunt to get them on the rim but would look class
