    Default de-cat pipes

anyways as some of you no my car has a ok spec and was mapped at 1.1bar and got 476.3bhp at the fly wheel but while gettin alignment done yesterday i noticed car was still runnin factory cat... i not mechanically minded at all and my mapper never told me i still had standard cat so by fittin a decat will it improve the car much???? and also will it rduce my turbo lag??? i am runnin apexi rx-6 top mount turbo and full boost is at bout 4700rpm so as ya can imagine the lag is very annoying

    any help appreciated

The less retrictions the exhaust gasses have to pass through the better. The turbo should boost earlier, and harder with that gone. Well that's if there is a restrictor in the cat like there was on my Chaser.

are you still running a lamba?

The lack of restriction in the exhaust with a de-cat can help you get on boost that bit quicker and might mean your map isnt giving the fuel needed in the right places any more, so keep a slight re-map in mind when you go about doing it

the lamba monitors the afr's constintanly so it can tweek your map if your running a little rich or lean.

Without it its running the way it was tuned with your current set up so might get a bit lean as your coming on boost with a de-cat

It shouldnt be a full remap, the bottom and top end of the map wont have changed but maybe the 1500rpm just as you come on boost might need altering a little. Its grand changing them on cars that havent had a remap and that are still running lambda's cos its able to give a little extra juice where its needed

Handiest way to tell is if you can borrow a wide band lambda sensor for a day and just keep an eye on your afrs before and after the de-cat. Then youl know for sure

running lean isnt someting you wanna mess with, especially when your running your sort of power. youve got lots of juice flowing.
