RB20 Det Gearbox Q's

Well boys! so i bought the r32 skyline as u can see in the build and project threads!

the gear box is missing 5th and reverse and crunching in second when revving high!

so can i put a rb25 box on it or which 1 is better.?? at the moment id say ill take out the box and let my dads friend (gearbox speciltist) and mechanic have a look at it and see how bad it actually is!

Dunno fella, the rb20 and 25 boxes are different, nearly sure seen gem doing sumthing swapping bellhousings before i think

Rb25 is the strongest box .I never had
probs with my rb20 gearbox when I had
a r32 and I abused it
an rb20 box will be cheaper
I think the Nissan doctor has one for sale
if yours goosed

yeah the car was never driven on irish roads at al! was only diffed in a yard!
5th gear was gone when it came from japan and then reverse went! i was told theres a pin on those two gears and it could have fallen out of broke ! but ill have the box checked and see and if its totally fuked il just buy another 1!

On standard power the 20 box will hold up.....! But not if you up the power a bit......! If it was me id be baning in a 25 box.....! Bout 400 to 500....!
